Ignoring or neglecting yourself pays a toll over time. You might not realize it at first, but there’s a clear path that leads from “I feel great” to “I’ve got so much on my plate right now” to “What am I suppose to do? I can’t stop.”
In my line of work I hear the excuses, the justifications, the reasons why someone doesn’t make time for themselves AND I hear the very real repercussions from chronic lack of integrated ‘me time’.
Because ‘me time’ is a spiral that can decrease or increase and only you know where that balance position is.
There’s so much confusion about ‘me time’, about being selfish, about being a martyr, about the roles you play, about the expectations from others, about overdoing and over giving.
