Top 10 Signs You Need 'Me Time'

Ignoring or neglecting yourself pays a toll over time. You might not realize it at first, but there’s a clear path that leads from “I feel great” to “I’ve got so much on my plate right now” to “What am I suppose to do? I can’t stop.”

In my line of work I hear the excuses, the justifications, the reasons why someone doesn’t make time for themselves AND I hear the very real repercussions from chronic lack of integrated ‘me time’.

Because ‘me time’ is a spiral that can decrease or increase and only you know where that balance position is.

There’s so much confusion about ‘me time’, about being selfish, about being a martyr, about the roles you play, about the expectations from others, about overdoing and over giving.

That’s why I wanted to share with you the top 10 signs I see in others that indicate they need to understand what ‘me time’ really is so they can make the commitment to increase their self-care.

Do you experience any of the following?

  1. Anxiety, hesitation, worry?

  2. Low level depression, tiredness, fatigue?

  3. Monkey Mind - a restless mind that won’t stop thinking and rethinking and overthinking?

  4. A disconnect from your body?

  5. Self-sabotaging thoughts and actions?

  6. Emotional irritability and an increase in physical illnesses & symptoms such as colds, nausea, body aches & pain, infections, muscle tension, flu, etc.?

  7. Low self-worth, self-esteem, self-confidence?

  8. Restless sleep - can’t get to sleep or stay asleep and wake up still tired?

  9. A feeling that it’s all work and not enough play, that it’s all for others and very little for yourself?

  10. Feeling empty, perhaps lonely, and longing for satisfaction?

Whether you find yourself saying yes to one or all ten questions on this list, you know that the voice inside you really wants more ‘me time’. It’s a voice you will need to listen to sooner rather than later.

The symptoms are here. The cause is to be discussed this summer in ‘Me Time: Self-Care 2.0’ - a 26-part channelled MasterCourse you can do at your own pace.
